Climate change is accelerating, bringing countries to commit to transiting to a lower carbon footprint, to protect our environment and natural resources.

According to NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration)'s 2020 report, the combined land and ocean temperature has increased at an average of 0.08 degrees Celsius per decade since 1880. One of the major contributors to climate change and global warming is the energy sector, accounting for more than two-thirds of global greenhouse gas emissions (World Water Day, 2020). In this context, companies that are in the business of producing and supplying energy must innovate and find resources that do not pollute the atmosphere. Today, there are a variety of clean and renewable energy resources, including wind power, solar, hydropower, tidal, biomass, geothermal to reduce the carbon footprint and increase sustainability. Nevertheless, economists and politicians could argue about the financial implications of clean energy: Does clean energy help or hurt the economy? Who benefits from clean energy? Who are the biggest investors in renewable energy?

During this event on clean-energy and sustainability investing, Susanna Hasenoehr (Head of Sustainability, APJ, SAP Asia Pacific Japan), Gavin Adda (CEO, TotalEnergies Distributed Generation Asia), Benny Gay (Head Intermediary Clients Asia, Vontobel) and Jeremy Lovey (VP Development & Partnerships Asia Pacific at Solar Impulse) will answer these questions and present their sustainability and ESG initiatives to projects to SwissCham members. The discussion will be moderated by Georg von Wattenwyl (Chairman, SwissCham Singapore and CEO, Vontobel Asia). Following the presentation, our guests will enjoy an exquisite dinner served by the Swissotel Stamford.
