ESG Myth or Reality?

Synopsys:

ESG-focused institutional investments are seen to be increasing by 84% to US$33.9 trillion in 2026, from US$18.4tn in 2021 - making up 21.5% of assets under management. This forecast represents a dramatic and continuing shift in the asset and wealth management (AWM) industry, according to a most recent report issued by PwC[1].

ESG emerged as a joint effort by the UN, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Swiss Government in 2004 with the intent to support the financial industry's consideration of Environmental, Social and Governance issues in mainstream investment decision-making. Since, ESG investing has caught wide-spread interest, yet with that it also has come under scrutiny for greenwashing.

This event will clarify the ESG jargon. ESG investing means different things for different people. Are there different return outcomes if we go beyond the traditional risk/return approach and opportunities? The event will unpack the different ESG approaches across asset classes from listed equities, fixed income and private equities.

Join us to learn from our expert and keynote speaker Claudia Gollmeier (Managing Director & Senior Investment Officer, Colchester's Singapore and UN PRI Chair Sovereign Debt Advisory Committee) and our expert panelists addressing the most prominent questions to ESG investing. With her on the panel are Genevieve Heng (Co-Founder & Director, Anthem Asia Limited), Dr. Marta Widz, Family Office Researcher, Wealth Management Institute (WMI), and Jeremy Tan, Relationship Manager, Associate Director, Vontobel Asset Management, Singapore.
